Now focused entirely on private practice, Annette continues to treat teens, young adults and their families.  She specializes in issues with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, social adjustment, and gender identity.

Because of Annette’s extensive tenure serving in various capacities advocating for young people, she is particularly well versed on the many academic and psychosocial stressors surrounding high school and college students.  In her private practice she has a particular interest in treating adolescents and young adults that face the challenges with divorce of their parents, as well as LGBTQ+, the personal journey of self-acceptance and the acceptance of others.  French is her second language.

MY APPROACH

I believe that creating a therapeutic relationship with my clients is essential to effective treatment .

Providing a safe, welcoming place to explore and express ideas and feelings without judgment is of the utmost importance to me.    Inspiring self-confidence and creating an environment where young adults can find their voice and be heard is critical.  Each individual has distinctive needs which must be met in order to successfully navigate issues that are interrupting a satisfying and happy life.

My clients are active participants in their care as  experts in their own lives.   I work collaboratively to develop tools for coping which match personal styles and preferences.  I am committed to working with other clinicians or school counselors to develop a united and comprehensive approach to care and treatment.

I believe that professionalism along with warmth, sensitivity, and a sense of humor allows clients  to relax and communicate openly and honestly.

It would be my privilege to learn more about you and your unique needs.
